Sarah Royal of Book Bindery zine fame, moved to Portland to see what she could find.
What she found was a community teaming with beer, bikes, and bridges.
She moved in with her butcher roommate, and did her best to acclimate to a town where everything is organic and raw.
Sarah had to find work despite a nearly 10% unemployment rate, and gets a job stocking boxes at a dollar tree.
She sets up a story exchange on the street, and drinks a fair amount of PBR, all the while acknowledging that the idea of Portland as utopia is frustrating, and it wouldn't really be, except she loves all the people there so darn much.
