January 28th, 2010. The days are getting longer and the hints of spring are starting to appear, we don't want to be overly optimistic, but the end of winter is almost within our grasp. We've got a handful of new items in the store that we think you'll like. There are awesome wood journals that are just the type of gift that people will keep for a lifetime, and then there's the daily-use planner from our friend Heidi Meredith that's cleverly designed as the rooms of a house. And of course, in a couple of weeks is Valentine's Day. On one side, we've got a great new zine on the potential glory of being single and for the presently-love-entranced, we've got more goods with the word love in them than cupid has arrows. So, do check out the new stuff... and, as always, thanks for your support.
Yes, Only Love Can Break Your Heart In two weeks, Valentine's Day will be upon us. Celebrate or otherwise own the holiday on your own terms with this wonderful letterpress print from Sarah Utter. Classic lyrics hand-set and printed. Limited edition.
Xylobooks marry traditional bookbinding methods with a clean, modern aesthetic that emphasizes the tactile nature of the materials and the connection between wood and paper. These books can be for journals or permanent keepsakes.
Corinne's comics are heartfelt and real. Her style is simple, but engaging. My Every Single Thought takes us on a ride of what happens when you set your facebook status from the joys of "It's complicated" to the introspectively provocative "Single."
Art for the Millions is an audio CD and 28-page guided tour of Portland public works projects of the Works Progress Administration (WPA), a federally funded program that provided relief to millions of idle workers during the height of the Great Depression. It's a fascinating read, full of history, art and architecture, that makes you ask yourself why we as a society aren't doing more things like this today.
You Make Me Hot, And Over 30 Other Cards You Should Send Your Lover The message here is simple: You like someone, you should tell them. A handwritten note inside a carefully chosen card will earn you a kiss, we promise.
The Original Vegetarian Cookbook Okay, there might have been ones before it, but very few had the impact and lasting affect on the nation's dietary habits as the 1977 original Moosewood Cookbook. Updated and revised, this is a must-have classic for every kitchen.
Designed for Plazm by Todd Houlette of DeFacto Industries, this shirt is a simple, but complex, image of two bombs intersecting into a heart. Cream and red ink printed on an army green shirt. Perhaps Not The Valentine People Are Expecting, But It Rings True >>
Direct from Jill's latest body of work, Anima, comes a series of prints that explore the shape and form of nature in the Pacific Northwest. New items include The Wapiti Meadow and The Pacific Octopus Shoreline.
Run DMC, Salt-N-Pepa, 2Pac and Biggie, Public Enemy and More Nathan McKee likes drawing the icons of his youth, and the results are a fun and charming set of one-inch buttons. He's got five different sets of buttons, all with three buttons each.
Letters Meet Animals, Rejoice! This book is an epic meeting of typography and animalography. Okay, animalography isn't really a word, but this book is so epic it deserves a new word. From an alligator made of aaa's to a zebra made of zzz's, the alphabeasties in this book are ingeniously built out of multiple typefaces.
Heidi Meredith has come up with an elegant and functional planner that will help you keep track of all the things you need to do for work and for pleasure. Die-cut in the shape of a nice old house, this planner lets you create a portable, organized attic.
