December 17th, 2009. It's hard to believe it's already the middle of December. This year has been a wild ride for us, and we really appreciate all of your support — we feel really lucky to have you as customers and friends. We're doing our best to get each and every order packed and shipped out as it comes in. Our goal is, as always, for you to get your packages as soon as humanly possible. We've added a few new products that might make great last-minute gifts, and we've highlighted a handful of them below. This is our last newsletter of the year, so we want to wish you all Happy Holidays and a wonderful New Year.
Brilliant New Work By Jill Bliss Fresh from their debut at our Land Gallery, Jill's latest work from her Anima series are now available. Anima is the beginning of a new body of work in which Jill Bliss explores the familiar native vegetation of her home in the Pacific Northwest, as well as the animals that dwell within that landscape. Each informs — and is an inseparable part of — the other. Come And Meet The Black Bear Forest and The Starfish Tidepools >>
Sarah Utter Limited Edition Letterpressed Holiday Gift Tags Sarah has been printing like a mad woman lately. She was making up some holiday gift tags to spruce up her own holiday gifts, when she realized she should share them with the world.
Two New Natural Towels From Slow Loris and A Re-Stock Of Their Amazing Hand-Cut Shirt Designs We love Slow Loris; the whole concept of taking your time and doing things right and by hand is near and dear to our hearts. We've restocked some of their more popular designs and added a few new ones, as well.
Just In Time For The Holidays: Arcana Soaps is back with a new collection for winter. They have managed to pack the aroma of bundles of toys, a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer all in a soap.
Household Goods: The Middletons Meet Birds Of A Feather (Plates) You know what a surprising, but wonderful gift is? Plates. Seriously. These new sets of plates from Poketo are the perfect gift for the person who might already think they have everything. Artists Plates: Two Different Sets, Eight Different Designs >>
This is the eighth issues of awesomeness. Part mix tape, part magazine, and thick and rich enough to qualify as a book — Yeti is an amazing collection of art; both literary, artistically and musically.
Ed Fella is an artist and graphic designer whose work has had an important influence on contemporary typography. He practiced professionally as a commercial artist in Detroit for 30 years before receiving an MFA in Design from the Cranbrook Academy of art.
Sam Trout: Now For Adults And Kids We had a chance to catch up with Sam Trout at Crafty Wonderland in Portland, Oregon last weekend, and he gave us a nice stack of new designs, including some just for kids and a reprint of the awesome half-octopus, half-car design in unisex adult sizes.
Just Got In Our Last Batch of Time Flies Necklaces For The Year Our friend Adjowah makes each one of these necklaces by hand, and we just received our last batch of them for the year. Each one is unique, and once it's sold, it's gone.
When she's not out rocking with her band The Thermals, Kathy Foster likes to make art. Her latest series is a line of recycled paper notecards built from her collages. Printed by a family-owned press in Portland, Oregon with soy-based inks.
This year went by way faster than we expected, and a lot happened. We hired some new folks, opened a retail space and art gallery, and continued to add a slew of new and awesome artists. Starting next year we'll be eleven years old. In celebration of our first 10 years, we asked a lot of our artists to put together a logo for the top of the site. We've been so happy to be rotating through these logos that we're going to keep doing it into next year as well (heck, we might never stop). Check Out All Our Guest Logos, And We'll Blow Out The Last Candles >> Holiday Shipping Deadlines We've found that shipping can take a little bit longer this time of the year, so here's a helpful guide of when we suggest you place your order in order for timely delivery.
