Pumpkins, Falling Leaves, Hobgobblins. Fall is here, and we haven't left, adding over 40 new products over the past month, from fancy plates to French pencils, from books about the future of food to anarchist organizers.
Slingshot Collective's 2008 Organizer A staple of backpockets and backpacks, the annual Slingshot Organizer is a triumph of information; collected, organized and otherwise. Available in over 30 colors and two different styles. Quite a few new Nikki McClure related products have arrived: Nikki's Holiday Cards have arrived, available in packs of ten. Nikki worked on the cover for the New York Review's Children's series reprint of the delightful Box of Delights. She also leant her art to two compelling books about Slow Flood (and how important good, clean and fair food is for our future).
The mistress of all things "Reading is Sexy" has a few new works. The Signature Owl, shown left, is a great four-color piece done with translucent inks. New books for your library: We love books and zines. That's why we can't stop adding them to the shop. Above are pictured just some of the highlights, including Lisa Nola's great Listology journal, a cool collection of guided list-making and finding the details in your life less ordinary.
They Call Pencils Crayons In France We realized the other day that we've been selling things to write on for years, but never something to write with. We fixed that with these simple, handcrafted pencils from France. The latest in fill-in-the-blank notecard technology: Loaded Blanks has released their second set of cards; twelve different artists provide illustrations (and in some case paintings) for these choose-your-own-adventure wonders. We've also got new cards by Little Otsu that are worth checking out... or, simply browse our entire selection of cards you won't find at the mall.
Queenbee: In stock and ready to ship Queenbee Creations has just launched a new site, but before they did, we asked them to make up a big old batch of their favorites. We've got them in-stock and ready to send out. Need housewares? We've got 'em from plates to soap: Los Angeles meets Japan with a cool set of plates from Poketo. Arcana Soaps has released a few seasonal blends, including a "spooky" cucumber mixture.
Emily Martin (aka The Black Apple) has created two more great paintings that are used by Tiny Meat to help carry your passports, dollar bills and other wallet-bound sundries. New York City Letterpress meets Italian Paper The wife and husband duo that is Sesame Letterpress have just come out with a high-class card line that's amazing in it's detail and charm.
Kids Need Cool Clothes and Other Stuff We've got new clothes from Sarah Utter, new shoes from See Kai Run and a great new kids book The Octonatus and the Sea of Shade. These designs make you wish you were a kid again. 2008 is right around the corner... We've got lots of dayplanners that are good all year, but we carry a few limited-edition things that are only valid for 365 days. Time is precious. Thanks for reading our newsletter. We appreciate your continued support. So, now, go and swing by the store and check it all out.
