"As far as the releases go I want people to be excited when they listen to the music, to feel like they are tapped into something totally awesome and magical. to be inspired, to feel the music in thier guts. " (READ THE REST)

DECOMPOSITION RECORDS
(SAN FRANCISCO, CA / 1996-Present)

"My inspiration was small underground presses of the 60s and independent punk labels of the 70s, that were more about quality than quantity. I've also always gravitated towards mass produced, inexpensive or free, aesthetically strong, politically poignant cultural artifacts. So when I started Decomposition I had all that in mind. But on a practical level, I really just started the label as a way to document what had been going on in DC in 1991, by distributing the A Wonderful Treat cassette and releasing the Suture 7", and just kept going from there." PETERBILT
(WASHINGTON, DC / 1987-Present)

"Peterbilt came together kind of by accident. I never set out with any aspirations to "grow" a label or make a going business concern, its just that at certain points in my life i've gotten swept up into some specific enthusiasm that made me want to release something. that's all Peterbilt is to me really - a spontaneous outlet for sounds that i think are cool or are personally important to me in some way." SUPER ELCTRO SOUND RECORDINGS
(SEATTLE, WA / 1992-Present)

"There's always been a lot of great bands here in Seattle that slip through the cracks. The SESR bands fall into the punk/garage/psych/wave ghettos somewhere." (READ THE REST)

THIN THE HERD RECORDS
(OLYMPIA, WA / 1997-Present)

"A friend of ours does a label that makes a bunch of "press" for each release, and he's mad at us right now for selling a bunch of copies of a couple of our records that we didn't advertise as much as he thinks we should've. I'm not gloating; by all logic he should be doing way better than us. It's stupid. I'm sure it'll turn in a week and we'll be eating pork & beans out of the can over flaming copies of our records."
